La FRASERA is a noted Arabian Stud Farm and represents the result of twenty five years of hard work and passion for horses for Francesco and Serenella Santoro. Francesco and Serenella Santoro live in Sacrofano near Rome and have owned horses for more than thirty years. Their very first stallion, Satir, only just passed away at the significant age of 32. At the end of the 70’s Mr. and Mrs. Santoro decided to transform La Frasera in a farm which would only select the best genetic lines of "Straight Egyptians" in the belief that the undeniable beauty and purity of these subjects could improve the strength and quality of the entire race. The Santoro family is well known in the International Arabian Community and Francesco Santoro is also a respected International class A judge.
La Frasera Arabians have been shown all over the world, primarily in conformation based halter classes, but have also obtained outstanding results in endurance, Western disciplines and racing. In recent years, Francesco and Serenella have bred stallions that have excelled in International Class A Shows, like Shahil, Frasera Mashar, Frasera Dubai and Frasera Ramses Shah. This last stallion was awarded the title of “Best in Show” at the European Egyptian Event held Lanaken, Belgium 2011. Currently two of these stallions, Frasera Dubai and Frasera Mashar, are leased to breeding farms in Israel and in Dubai. In order to bring "new blood" to their herd of mares, every 2-3 years Francesco and Serenella also lease Straight Egyptian stallions descending from different genetic lines of those present in the horses at La Frasera.
La FRASERA has been collaborating with SBSItalia for semen freezing and distribution since 1997. Says Francesco Santoro,
"The professional service experienced through our collaboration with SBS has enabled our stallions to achieve pregnancies around the world. This positive experience with frozen semen not only has allowed us to export the genetics of our stallions worldwide, but also has allowed us to continue to inseminate our mares with the semen of our stallions operating abroad".
