Dianna Orona of Fox Creek Farm is utilizing the SBS international affiliate program to the full advantage. Located on a 160 acre farm 5 miles west of Manhattan, KS, Fox Creek Farm has a world class breeding program founded upon the German Riding Pony. Their goal is to produce an athletic sport pony, correct in both conformation and movement, with a quiet, friendly temperament suitable for smaller adults or children.
Their breeding program began with building a solid mare base consisting of the highest quality pony mares available. The mare herd at Fox Creek Farm includes four imported States Premium German Riding Pony mares. During the search for these quality mares in Europe they had the good fortune to become acquainted with Timo and Julia Coldewey of Gestuet Kastanienhof in Germany. Through this new partnership Dianna arranged to have semen from their German Riding Pony stallions, Kennedy (below) and Halifax (above), frozen by SBS North Germany. The semen was then imported to the US and is distributed for Fox Creek Farm by SBS Maryland.
“The professionalism at SBS is second to none; they are fantastic to work with. The QC program adds confidence and credibility to the distribution of frozen semen!” Dianna Orona, Fox Creek Farm
This international collaboration between Gestuet Kastanienhof, Fox Creek Farm and Select Breeders Service offers an exciting opportunity for US breeders to access these sires who have already proven their quality in Germany through offspring and success in competition. As a 2yo in 1999, Kennedy was the Reserve Champion of the Weser-Ems Pony Stallion Licensing and he is currently competing successfully at Prix St. George. Halifax shines as a sire of outstanding riding ponies; he is an Elite stallion, having sired more than 10 approved stallions and/or state premium mares.
