RanchBoss Cortez (Primavera Valdez x Teluras Black Gold) is a stunning 15.2hh buckskin, classified foundation stallion.  His buckskin coat (EEAaCrCrn) is shot with iridescent spun gold.

Frozen semen is stored at Marylands, USA and in British Columbia, Canada.  Cortez has produced quality foals in both countries, with the most successful to date being the Disco Patricia son, EMM Heartbreak Kid, who was the 2016 World Champion Reining Snaffle Bit at Oklahoma.

Cortez’s strong western working lines have gifted him with a work ethic admired by all and this, combined with his sublime temperament and calm mind, has allowed him to sustain a 10 year show career in both Breed and Open Competition.  This career has not only been in the show ring but has encompassed the disciplines of western riding, English dressage through to bridle-less performances.

Cortez never failed to bring home the Champion or Supreme/Grand Champion sash and his Australian progeny are now earning their own Champion sashes in the show ring.

Since his arrival in Australia, Cortez has achieved a greater awareness of the Morgan breed through his bridle-less performances in both English and Western Dressage.  Cortez became a National celebrity through these performances and in 2013 and 2014 he and his Trainer, were invited to perform at Australia’s Equitana, the largest equine show in the southern hemisphere.

More recently Cortez has had success in Cowboy Dressage and in 2016 became the most prolific Morgan Stallion in Australia having produced over 50 pure bred foals.

For us, at Wilga Park, temperament is on the top of the list of ‘Must Haves’ in a stallion.  Our motto, “ Temperament cannot be taught … it is passed from generation to generation”, is witnessed in all Cortez’s offspring.  He certainly passes his intelligence, gentle willingness and work ethic on, time after time.

Performance

Cortez performed officially at Dressage.

He is a multi-Supreme Champion stallion both in hand and under saddle.

His career in the Show Ring is filled with Supreme Champion and Grand Champion Titles - both in Breed and Open competition.

Cortez is most famous for his bridle-less displays in both English and Western Dressage

Offspring

The Disco Patricia son, EMM Heartbreak Kid, who was the 2016 World Champion Reining Snaffle Bit at Oklahoma is the most successful of Cortez's progeny to date.

Wilga Park Summer Storm - 4 year old gelding - was awarded Grand Champion Ridden Morgan Exhibit at the 2018 Australian National Morgan Horse Show, after he had taken out Champion Ridden Gelding.

Wilga Park Silver Sabre, 4 year old stallion and full brother to Storm, was Champion Ridden Entire at the same show and half sister Wilga Park Boquila was Champion Ridden Mare at the same show.

Many of Cortez's progeny have won Champion titles in the show ring.

Cortez has two entire sons in Australia who were carefully chosen to breed on his wonderful disposition and athleticism - Wilga Park Conquistador and Wilga Park Silver Sabre.
