Overview
Wizard WF is a third generation US bred stallion who has the distinction of having a Grand Prix horse for both his sire and damsire. His mother's full brother Alacazam was not only an International Silver Medalist (NAYRC 1994) but a Grand Prix horse in his own right! Abracadabra has produced 2 other colts that are going for licensing by Dressage Royal.
Wizard is a promising young stallion both in the breeding shed and as a competition horse. His gaits are forward, powerful with good elasticity. At just 5 years of age, he has consistent flying changes that are balanced, uphill and easy. His lateral work is progressing nicely and we are looking forward to competing in the spring of 2011.
Pedigree
Performance
Wizard is a calm stallion to compete. He is lively yet grounded in the competition arena - completely focused on his rider and doing his utmost to please them. Due to rider injury, his 2011 show season has been delayed but we are planning on competing in the FEI 5 Year Olds and then possibly moving him along through the USDF Levels - which would nullify his eligibility for the YH classes. More advanced exercises are very easy for this talented stallion, so we may advance him at his own pace rather than that of the age dictated classes.
He will complete the Performance Requirements for his permanent Stallion License in the fall of 2011.
Over fences he is bold and careful with excellent bascule. He has what hunter people refer to as a 'freakish' use of the front end over jumps. His approach is steady and soft.
Professional riders have repeated asked to be allowed to continue to work with him as he is a quick study and delightful to train.
Offspring
His first foal arrived in April 2011. Wendolyn WF is out of a Wallstreet Kid/xx mare and a great improvement on her dam. The length of hip, strength of loin, engagement of the hind leg and self carriage are her improvements. We look forward to seeing more foals from this promising young stallion in the future.
