Overview
Mobolensky CM v/d Wolfshoeve is the product of some very interesting lines that has resulted in his excellent conformation, athleticism and power.
His sire, Cornet Obolensky, is an acclaimed jumping star known for his elasticity, a good technique and explosiveness. He proved himself as a high performing athlete, notably winning Grand Prix’s and National Cup’s, such as Samsung Super League Finals in Barcelona, which he won on two occasions. He was also part of the German Olympic Team in 2008. He earned bronze at the German National Championships, first place wins in the Grand Prix competition at Balve/GER and Cervia/ITA with further wins at the National Cup competition at Rotterdam/NED. Cornet Obolensky’s sire, Clinton, has been considered one of the world’s top show jumpers who also placed in the 2004 Olympic games. Cornet’s dam sire Heartbreaker is just as well-known as an Internationally successful show jumping legend.
Mobolensky’s dam, Olga II, is a solidly built regional premium Holsteiner mare with an excellent disposition. She produced Connor III, a 1.40m jumper by Caretino as well as a 1.35m jumper by Coriano and a 1.20m horse by Contano. Olga II was sired by the great Contender, who won the 1987 Adelheidsdorf stallion performance test with a jumping index of 146.6. He went on to the 1-b main premium vice-champion in Oldenburg on the basis of his excellent first crop of foals. The success of his offspring made him so sought after that in 2000, the Holsteiner Board decided to limit the use of Contender to registered Holsteiner mares. As one of the ‘big three’ stallions of Holstein, Contender was limited to a book of 350 mares a year – and each year over 700 applications were received! Some of his better known offspring include Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum’s Checkmate, Nick Skelton’s former ride Carlo, Ludger Beerbaum’s top mare Chiara and Montender, who with Marco Kutscher earned the Team Bronze in addition to the Individual Bronze Medal at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece (just above Cornet Obolensky’s sire Clinton in 4th!).
Mobolensky himself is showing incredible scope, elasticity and talent for jumping. His foals are consistently displaying athleticism, correct conformation and confidence. The coming years will be exciting to watch this young stallion develop in the show ring.
