SBS is seeking an energetic and motivated undergraduate to intern with our team of professionals at our Maryland based equine reproductive technology company. This is an unpaid internship for the Summer Semester (January/February to May). Housing will be provided.
The individual will assist our on-farm veterinarians, Dr. David Scofield and Dr. Elena Martinez de Andino: foal watching duties, assist at foalings and with neonatal care.

Select Breeders Service, Inc. (SBS) is seeking an energetic and motivated undergraduate to intern with our team of professionals at our Maryland based equine reproductive technology company. Although the intern will be primarily based at our SBS stallion division, there will some opportunity to assist veterinary staff at our mare facilities with mare reproduction and management. This is an unpaid internship for the Spring Semester (May/June to mid-August). Housing is available.
The individual will assist our laboratory technicians with:
- Stallion collections
- Cooled and frozen semen processing
- Media production
- Laboratory maintenance
- Processing blood work
- Frozen semen distribution
