Foaling Calculator

The SBS Due Date and Vaccination Calculator for pregnant mares helps horse owners schedule vaccinations at the optimal times. By entering the mare’s ovulation date, the calculator estimates the foaling date and provides recommended vaccination dates. This ensures the mare’s immunity is strengthened at critical stages, protecting both her and her foal. The tool simplifies vaccination planning, promoting the health of both the mare and her newborn.

Please note the following:

  • Foaling date based on 340 days of gestation
  • Deworming is not included in these calculations. Please consult with your veterinarian
  • SBS recommends more frequent ultrasound checks during gestation to ensure placental health and proper gestational development of fetus
  • CTUP is combined thickness of uterus and placenta.
  • Serum Progesterone levels may be pulled between days 25 – 40 of gestation to ensure proper progesterone levels in mare.
